The Epson Stylus Photo R300 was one of the last printer models that allowed you to reset the waste ink counter directly via the button panel on the printer but somehow we forgot to share it here. So, it’s late but here’s the process for resetting the waste ink counter on an R300 model printer, without using any software.

Press and hold the following buttons together:

  • Power/On
  • Stop
  • Maintenance

… for a few seconds.

If this is difficult to coordinate, try the following:

Get your fingers organised to press and hold these buttons first:

  • Stop
  • Maintenance

Press these down, hold… and then, press and hold the Power/On button as well. Hold for about 10 seconds and then release.

Now turn the printer off, wait until the lights go out and then turn the printer back on and you should now find the waste counter has been reset.

Tip: You can confirm by using the “read waste ink counter” function available in the WICReset tool
